Why is it necessary to pass the draft law 6229?

Draft law No. 6229 provides for the implementation of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) and European legislation in Ukraine as regards increasing the transparency of the extractive sector. Adoption of the law will help improve access to information on taxes paid on extractive activities at central and regional levels, and will enhance interaction and information exchange between companies and authorities.
