We can already create a legislative and regulatory basis for the implementation of the “green transition” and the development of distributed generation – DiXi Group expert on “World for Ukraine 2023” summit

DiXi Group expert Olena Lapenko took part in the “World for Ukraine 2023” summit, which took place on September 28-29 in the Polish city of Rzeszów. The panel on which Olena acted as a speaker was devoted to the energy crisis in Ukraine and the resilience of the Ukrainian energy system to enemy attacks.

As the expert noted, emergency measures are being taken in Ukraine to prepare the power system for winter:

  • a program for the physical protection of power facilities
  • scheduled repairs of power units and electrical networks
  • restoration of power equipment damaged by Russian attacks
  • accumulating fuel to ensure sufficient reserves
  • forming equipment reserves for the possibility rapid recovery of networks in the event of new attacks,
  • installation of backup power sources at critical infrastructure facilities.

That is, every effort is being made to ensure that the Ukrainian energy front survives this winter.

“We all understand that now every megawatt of available capacity is important for Ukraine, including the capacity of outdated power units at thermal power plants. However, we must simultaneously work on achieving strategic goals: we can already create a legislative and regulatory basis for the implementation of the “green transition” and the development of distributed generation, the inflow of investments in the energy sector”, said Olena Lapenko.

The topic of punishing Rosatom for actions at the Zaporizhzhia NPP was also touched upon during the discussion. Olena Lapenko noted that the Russian nuclear giant should be limited in its access to modern technologies, and the EU countries that depend on Rosatom’s services and products should develop clear plans to refuse cooperation with the Russians in the nuclear industry, with specific deadlines for their implementation.
