Training in the Green Deal for civil servants

The concept of the European Green Deal and implementation of new European standards by energy sector specialists were reviewed during a training organized by DiXi Group. A training in Green Deal: Peculiarities of Implementation in the EU and Ukraine was held on 14 February at the Club of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Kyiv School of Energy Policy, a DiXi Group project, invited civil servants from the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Protection and other specialized agencies, and also members of the Ukrainian parliament and their aides to attend this event. At the beginning of training, over 30 attendees were greeted by Helen Fazey, Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Kyiv. The coach, Georg Zachmann, an expert at Brussels-based think tank Bruegel, started with outlining the preconditions for the advent of the European Green Deal initiative, its content and the stances of various countries. Afterwards, the attendees reviewed possible consequences for certain sectors from the implementation of the Green Deal. They also touched upon the topic of future implementation of this initiative: what documents should be expected and when. During the final part of training, they discussed possible formats of Ukraine’s engagement in this and similar European initiatives with participation of neighboring states. The training was organized by DiXi Group as part of its Kyiv School of Energy Policy project with the support from the British Embassy in Ukraine.
