

Round Table “Prerequisites for Privatization: Reality and Investors’ Expectations”
A round table will be held on December 9, 2016 from 02:00 p.m. to 06:00 p.m. on the topic “Prerequisites for Privatization: Reality and Investors’ Expectations.” The event takes place with the support from the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Fuel and Energy Complex, Nuclear Policy and Nuclear Safety and with the assistance of the British Government.
The purpose of the debate is to discuss the conditions which will enable the transparent and successful privatization of energy assets in Ukraine.
During the event the participants, in particular, will discuss the following issues:
· Effectiveness of financial policy and energy procurement;
· The conditions under which businesses agree to participate in privatization;
· Demands of investors for further management of energy companies;
· European experience in the privatization of energy assets;
· New approaches to work with investors.
This is the second event in a series of discussions regarding the prospects of privatization in the energy sector of Ukraine. The first such discussion consisted in the committee hearings on the topic “Ways of Improving Privatization Process and Attracting Private Capital to the Fuel and Energy Complex of Ukraine”, held on October 11 in the premises of the Verkhovna Rada.
Members of dedicated committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, representatives of the State Property Fund, EBRD, IFC, NCEPUR, energy companies, specialized NGOs and leading mass media are invited to take part in the round table.
