Round Table on Draft Law “On Disclosure of Information in Extractive Industries”

On 17 October 2016 from 14:00 to 16:00, a round table on the draft law “On Disclosure of Information in Extractive Industries” will take place.

 The objective of the discussion is to present the most advanced provisions of the draft law, its capacities in the context of the subsoil use reform, and disclosure of information on beneficiary owners, creation of conditions for financial transparency and effective natural resources development.

 During the event, the participants will discuss, among other things, the following issues:

 ·      role of reporting in the extractive industry reforms and attraction of investments;

 ·      special features of the respective agencies and companies;

 ·      possible obstacles in the process of the draft law implementation, and ways to overcome them.

 The invited participants of the round table are members of specialized committees of the Verkhovna Rada, representatives of the key energy companies, public organizations, experts, as well as high ranking officials who are professionally interested in this topic.

 The event is organized by DiXi Group Think Tank with the support of the EITI National Secretariat and the International Renaissance Foundation.
