President of DiXi Group Participated in a Documentary

Olena Pavlenko, President, Dixi Group Analytical Centre, acted as an expert in Igor Chayka’s documentary “Gas Revolution or Shale Zugzwang?” The authors of the project wanted to clarify the situation in the country around unconventional natural gas development.

Commenting on extraction, Olena Pavlenko noted that everything should be done in accordance with the rules and law. “During my visit to the USA, I saw how shale gas was extracted there and paid attention to the extent the companies disclose the details of production as regards each well. It is easy to control them and identify a problem, if any, at an early stage. In contrast, in Ukraine some companies which extract conventional hydrocarbons often are not ready to be so open, which means a much more higher risk of damage to the environment”, noted the President of DiXi Group.

The production of the film took three years. Nearly 70 speakers from the USA and Ukraine took part in its production. A part of material was shot in Washington, D.C., Pensilvania and Ohio.In Kyiv, the film was shown at the Press Centre of the National Union of Journalists. According to Ihor Chayka, Kyiv is the eighth city where the film was shown. It was first displayed in the Western regions. Kherson and Poltava are next in turn. According to the film director, the English version of the film is being currently edited.
