New version of the draft law on energy regulator will be examined in the EU
The final version of the draft law No. 2966 on the National Energy and Public Utilities Regulatory Commission, prepared by MPs and experts, was sent to the Energy Community Secretariat.
“We expect that the fate of this document would be solved on November 4 at the meeting of the Committee on Fuel and Energy Complex of the Verkhovna Rada”, said the president of DiXi Group think tank Olena Pavlenko. According to her, the Committee members will meet the director of the Energy Community Secretariat Janez Kopac that day.
He will present the Annual Implementation Report to the MPs National Deputies and assess the new version of the draft law No. 2966. “I think it’s a good opportunity to discuss what to do with the draft law and decide how to proceed”, stated Olena Pavlenko.
It should be noted, that in early September the establishment of the Strategic Advisory Group was announced, which includes leading Ukrainian and international experts and MPs. The group works to improve the draft law No. 2966 “On the National Energy and Public Utilities Regulatory Commission”.More than 190 comments to the draft law were reviewed by experts during the work. The activity of the Strategic Advisory Group was held within the project “Promoting the creation of an independent regulator in Ukraine”, implemented by DiXi Group and supported by the International Renaissance Foundation.
