Multilateral Group on Reforms Within the Framework of the Energy Community Held Its First Meeting at the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry

On November, 6, the first meeting of the Multilateral Group on implementation and efficiency monitoring of reforms under Ukraine’s commitments within the framework of the Energy Community took place at the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry.

The meeting was attended by representatives of line ministries, companies and experts (in particular, by members of the Energy Reforms coalition and representatives of DiXi Group Analytical Centre.

“Implementation of the European directives is Ukraine’s international commitment. The country and each of us will be assessed based on its results. The Multilateral Group is a kind of a project team charged with implementation of the Ukraine’s European Integration in the Energy Sector project. We will try to successfully complete this project”, told Olena Pavlenko, President, Dixi Group Analytical Centre.

“The task of the Group is an efficient and rapid development of mechanisms to improve cooperation of government authorities and other stakeholders. Such cooperation will allow for a full-fledged implementation of our commitments within the framework of the Energy Community through better interaction and cooperation with other stakeholders”, noted Roman Nitsovych, Program Manager, DiXi Group Analytical Centre.

The participants in the meeting considered the draft Energy Reform Road Map for 2015–2016, prepared by experts, and declared key priorities of implementation of relevant EU directives and regulations.The event was co-organized by the Ministry of Energy and Coal and the Energy Reforms expert coalition, established within the framework of the Improving Implementation of Ukraine’s Commitments within the Energy Community Through Enhancing Impact of Civil Society project, jointly implemented by DiXi Group and Resource and Analysis Centre “Society and Environment” with the support of the European Union.
