“Green” transition to be accelerated for the sake of Ukraine’s and EU’s security – DiXi Group expert in Warsaw
Head of Research of Dixi Group Think Tank Roman Nitsovych took part in the European Energy Security Conference in Warsaw, organized by the Forum Energii and the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR).
The strategy and further steps to counteract the negative economic impact of Russia’s war against Ukraine as well as opportunities for accelerating the energy transformation in Europe were mainly discussed. Among other things, the participants spoke about what the reconstruction of Ukraine should be, what needs are the most pressing and how to ensure sustainability and the “green” nature of such reconstruction.
“It was important to say that Ukraine, as a future member of the EU, is part of the decisions that will strengthen European energy security. Integrated markets are about the use of our gas storages and the exportation of electricity and about other advantages, in particular the development of the entire technological chain in RES,” said Roman Nitsovych.
In terms of reconstruction, Roman Nitsovych added that the participants of the conference received the message that it was necessary not to wait for the war to come to an end but to act now to make the energy infrastructure of Ukraine decentralized and more protected from enemy attacks.
