DiXi Group: the energy sector must consider three priorities in 2021

DiXI Group President Olena Pavlenko took part in the energy panel of the online forum “The Dialogues About Reforms: on the Road to Vilnius”.

During the event held on 17-27 November, leading politicians and civil society exerts discussed the progress in implementing reforms during the past year of the government’s and the parliament’s tenure and the priorities of reforms in Ukraine for 2020 and 2021.

“The biggest priority is to enhance institutional capabilities of bodies of public administration and interaction among them. If this objective is attained, I would suggest to consider three other important points,” Olena Pavlenko said when speaking at the forum. “When we’ll be discussing the strategies and plans concerning energy and climate, as well as the national contribution the next year, let’s try to apply the measurability indicator to these documents. It would subsequently allow to build a very clear action plan of implementing the strategy.”

According to her, digitalization and data opening must be the second priority. And the third point to which attention should be devoted the next year is improvement of communication among stakeholders.

“It is hard to work with market participants which are producers of renewable electricity, and there is also a question of dialogue with large state companies. This is a difficult question. At the moment, I don’t have an answer about how to establish this dialogue, but a lot of efforts would obviously have to be taken in this area,” Mrs. Pavlenko added.

The online forum was organized by the RPR Coalition within preparation for the Ukraine Reform Conference, an annual international event featuring expert discussion of the progress in reforms in Ukraine.
