DIXI GROUP presented “Game of Gas Thrones”

The experts of DiXi Group Analytical Centre presented the results of a study on the most popular fraudulent schemes in oil and gas production sector as well as a board game based on the study.

According to the authors, it took them a year to complete the study. They held a number of expert interviews. DiXi Group experts interviewed representatives of production companies, the government and investigative journalists. In summary, there were identified over 10 standard corruption schemes spread in the domestic extractive industry.

“It resembles Game of Thrones.  The level of intrigues and manipulations in the sector may be compared to that of the popular TV series. Some players act as feudals: they plot to eliminate competitors and steal money from the treasury.

“This work was mostly targeted at the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and law enforcement authorities. We only structured available information and tried to analyse it. Our goal is to make the sector more fair to attract serious investors”, noted OlenaPavlenko, President, DiXi Group.

The game is available at Ukrainian Energy website

The study was conducted within the framework of the “Development of Monitoring System of Key Indicators to Detect Corruption in the Sphere of Energy Resources Extraction”, jointly implemented by DiXi Group and the International Renaissance Centre.
