DiXi Group Intern Goes to Study in Finland

Mykola Yakovenko, an intern of DiXi Group think tank, has been enrolled in a PhD program in European Law at the University of Eastern Finland. He will study at the Faculty of Social Science and Business Studies.

Mykola’s dissertation topic looks at the process of liberalization of energy markets in Central and Eastern European states that are members of the European Union (within the Energy Community framework). His scientific advisors are experts in the energy law sphere – Kim Talus and Andrei Belyi. “I hope to be actively involved in the reforms of the energy sector of Ukraine during and after my study”, Mykola commented on his enrollment. 

For reference, Mykola Yakovenko is an alumnus of bachelor programs in Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University (Kharkiv). In 2016, he received an MA degree in international relations and diplomacy at Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas (Lithuania). Currently, he continues his studies in the PhD program of the University of Eastern Finland, Joensuu, Finland) studying the issues of liberalization of energy markets in post-socialist member states of the Energy Community.
