A Regular "Energy Breakfast" which took place on February 10 at the initiative of the DiXi Group Think Tank brought together representatives of the three Committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine – on Fuel and Energy Complex, on Urban Development, Housing and Utility Services, and on European Integration, Johannes Baur, a representative of the Support Group for Ukraine, European Commission, and leading public experts. The goal of the latest informal meeting was to determine the main short-term goals for the implementation of European legislation in the field of energy. Olena Pavlenko, President of DiXi Group, acted as the moderator of the discussions.
Any delays in the adoption of the draft laws "On Environmental Impact Assessment" and "On Strategic Environmental Assessment" can lead to a loss of European partners' confidence. DiXi Group Think Tank plans to participate in the Fair of Project Ideas in Support of Reforms in Ukraine which will take place in Brussels on February 22. A round table will be held on December 9, 2016 from 02:00 p.m. to 06:00 p.m. on the topic "Prerequisites for Privatization: Reality and Investors' Expectations." The event takes place with the support from the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Fuel and Energy Complex, Nuclear Policy and Nuclear Safety and with the assistance of the British Government.
DiXi Group Program Manager Roman Nitsovych and Manager for Organization Development and Procurement Anastasiia Romaniuk took part in the annual conference of think tanks in Ukraine, held in Kyiv on November 16.
Representatives of NGOs filed an open letter to the government in which the call to allocate budgetary funds for the annual implementation of state energy efficiency programs in the amount that would meet the real demand, and adopt draft laws that will allow launching the Energy Efficiency Fund and will contribute to reforming the housing and utilities sector.
What will be the state program for energy efficiency support in 2017? Will the Energy Efficiency Fund start working? And will the population have an opportunity to use the saved subsidies for heat insulation? On November 8, participants of the round table "How to stop burning money. Expert Cross Section of Governmental Policy in Energy Efficiency Sphere" discussed these and other issues.
President of DiXi Group, Olena Pavlenko, took part in a workshop. An event organized by Heinrich Böll Foundation was held on November 2-3 in Vienna. The workshop was devoted to discussion of the situation in the energy sector in the Eastern and Southern European countries, more specifically, in the spheres of environment protection, abandonment of the coal use, and development of renewable energy sources. Participants of the event were representatives of regional offices of the Foundation as well as experts from Ukraine, Georgia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Russia, and Croatia.

Former Chief of Staff of the Federal Chancellery and Federal Minister for Special Affairs Ronald Pofalla, who chairs the Petersburg Dialog since May 2015, visited Kyiv on 24 - 25 October 2016. The goal of the visit was to meet with Ukrainian politicians, learn about the current political situation in Ukraine and the activities of Ukrainian civil society. Among other things, Ronald Pofalla met with members of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and representatives of non-governmental organizations and think tanks.
