Non-disclosure of information on extraction activities will be punished by fines. This sanction is set out in the Draft Law “On Data Disclosure in Extractive Industries”. It was reported during the press-conference at Ukraine Crisis Media Centre.
On 25 December, 10.00 a.m., at Ukraine Crisis Media Centre (2 Kreschatyk St., Ukrainian House), a study on the most popular fraudulent schemes in oil and gas production sector as well as a board game based on its results will be presented.
The second day of the Sustainable Resource Management Forum saw the formal launch of Ukraine’s first EITI Report. The Report documents USD 3.3 billion of payments by oil and gas companies (including oil and gas transportation companies) in 2013.
At the Sustainable Resource Management Forum, held on December 7-8, the first Ukrainian report under the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) Standard was presented. From now on, everyone has an opportunity to discover information about key Ukrainian oil and gas fields, license holders, production volumes, as well as the payments companies made to budgets of all levels. The data introduced in the EITI report is well detailed, reconciled and cover the year of 2013.
In order to emphasize the importance and relevance of the first Ukrainian report under the EITI Standard to be published in coming weeks, DiXi Group Analytical Centre released a video, urging to review the report to combat corruption in the oil and gas sector.
Maria Melnyk, Specialist for European Integration Programs, DiXi Group Analytical Centre, represented Ukraine during two EITI events in Mongolia. The first event was EITI National Forum which took place on November, 3–4 in Ulaanbaatar. The second event was the Eurasia Regional Meeting within the framework of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) which took place on November, 5–6.
