On 18 January, the Renaissance Foundation hosted this year’s first meeting of the Multi-Stakeholder Group (MSG) for implementation of ЕІТІ in Ukraine. At this meeting, DiXi Group was represented by the organization’s President Olena Pavlenko.
On October 5, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law on the implementation of international financial reporting standards, which should ensure greater transparency and accountability in extractive industries for investors and local communities.

During her speech on the second day of "EITI in Ukraine: How to Manage Resources Efficiently" conference, Olena Pavlenko, President of DiXi Group's Think Tank and Deputy Chairperson of the Multi-Stakeholder Group, noted that failed voting on the transparency bill was displeasing but it was a good chance to improve the document.
Implementation of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), which requires disclosure of data and financial information, is a possibility for the government, business, and public to know the real state of extracting industries and gain the maximum extraction efficiency. The sector transparency enhancement and further steps to be taken by Ukraine to improve the situation in the extracting industries were the key topics discussed at the conference "EITI in Ukraine: How to Manage Resources Efficiently", which was held in Kyiv on February 21 and 22.
The second Ukrainian report according to the standards of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) will be much more detailed than the first one. In particular, it covers a number of additional industries, namely production of coal, iron, titanium and manganese ores. That was mentioned by Roman Nitsovych, the Project Manager of DiXi Group Think Tank, at the Extractive Industries Transparency for Improving the Quality of Life of Communities Conference held on February 13 in Lviv.
On Wednesday, January 18, at a joint meeting of the Committee on Fuel and Energy Complex, Nuclear Policy and Nuclear Safety and the Board of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry, a public discussion of the draft Energy Strategy of Ukraine until 2035 was held involving experts and representatives of trade unions. The basic version of the document was created due to cooperation between the National Institute for Strategic Studies and the Ukrainian Centre for Economic and Political Studies named after O. Razumkov.
The second draft report of the EITI (Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative) was approved at the ordinary meeting of the Multi-Stakeholder Group (MSG), held on November 15.
It is too early to think about changes in the international oil market in connection with the discovery of Texas deposit. Such opinion was expressed on "Hromadske Radio" by the editor in chief of "Ukrainian Energy" website Viktoria Torop.
