- Russia continued to systematically attack electricity network facilities, focusing on the left-bank part of Ukraine.
- Electricity imports and emergency support from the ENTSO-E countries covered the energy system deficit. Consumer stabilization shutdowns and electricity exports were not implemented.
- Russia is preparing for a series of attacks on the nuclear energy infrastructure of Ukraine: open switchgear of nuclear power plants and substations, which are critical for the safe and secure operation of NPPs – Ukrainian intelligence.
- The IAEA General Conference approved the resolution “Nuclear Safety, Security and Safeguards in Ukraine”, which confirms that Ukrainian NPPs, particularly the Zaporizhzhia NPP, must function under Ukraine’s full sovereign control.
- The Ministry of Recovery, together with USAID, started developing a feasibility studies for implementing distributed generation in Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, and Ternopil. The project envisages creating energy islands for uninterrupted heat, electricity, and water supply during emergencies, which will cover over 800,000 residents.
- The Cabinet of Ministers approved measures for deploying gas-engine and gas-turbine power plants on ships and reducing the accompanying bureaucratic procedures.
- The government has updated the procedure for operating the biomethane register. The changes concern the procedure for issuing, transferring, distributing and canceling biomethane guarantees of origin and the implementation of EU standards for guarantees of origin.
- In the Lviv region, the largest mountain wind power plant in Ukraine was presented – Skolivska wind farm 54.6 MW; providing electricity to about 100,000 residents of the region.
- Guaranteed buyer filed a lawsuit against Energoatom for 14.4 billion UAH for non–payment of debt for services related to ensuring the affordability of electricity for households.
- In January–August 2024, Naftogaz Group increased gas production by over 7% to 9.8 bcm. The company exceeded the operating plan by 2%.
