At its meeting of 4 April, the Verkhovna Rada Committee for the Fuel and Energy Complex, Nuclear Policy and Nuclear Security has approved the draft law 6229 on transparency in extractive industries for second reading. MPs supported recommendations from the Working Group chaired by MP Olha Belkova, Deputy Chair of the Committee, which took into account the stance of companies, civic organizations, experts and public authorities.
Roman Nitsovych, Dixi Group’s Head of Projects and Programs, took part in the Multi-Stakeholder Group’s (MSG) meeting held on 14 March to review and approve a draft 2016 Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) Report.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted as the basis the draft law 6229 on transparency of extractive industries, voted “for” by 231 MPs.

One of the problems in consistent publication of open data is that public authorities do now always know what particular information should be published and in what form, the DiXi Group analyst Andrii Bilous said at a round table held by the government-civic initiative “Together against corruption”.
On 18 January, the Renaissance Foundation hosted this year’s first meeting of the Multi-Stakeholder Group (MSG) for implementation of ЕІТІ in Ukraine. At this meeting, DiXi Group was represented by the organization’s President Olena Pavlenko.
DiXi Group analysts actively participated in compilation of the list of information that must be published in the open data form. In particular, after suggestions from our analysts, the number of these data sets for the Energy Ministry has increased from 4 to 50.
Visiting fellows from the United States, Sergiy Logvin and Sagatom Saha, together with the experts of DiXi Group, prepared an analysis of the official U.S. position on supporting Ukraine's energy security.
