
On Wednesday, January 18, at a joint meeting of the Committee on Fuel and Energy Complex, Nuclear Policy and Nuclear Safety and the Board of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry, a public discussion of the draft Energy Strategy of Ukraine until 2035 was held involving experts and representatives of trade unions. The basic version of the document was created due to cooperation between the National Institute for Strategic Studies and the Ukrainian Centre for Economic and Political Studies named after O. Razumkov.
At the briefing that took place on December 23, 2016, experts listed the major "achievements" and "failures" of the Ukrainian implementation of European reforms in the energy sector and environmental issues as of the end of the year and outlined the priority tasks for the sector for 2017.

DiXi Group Think Tank has become a full-fledged member of the coalition of NGOs and experts of Ukraine called Reanimation Package of Reforms (RPR).
Mykola Yakovenko, an intern of DiXi Group think tank, has been enrolled in a PhD program in European Law at the University of Eastern Finland. He will study at the Faculty of Social Science and Business Studies.

On 23 September, Round Table "Key Challenges for New Electricity Market" was held in the premises of committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, during which international, national experts and politicians discussed a model of the electricity market according to the new draft law on the electricity market (No. 4493), which risks participants could face, and which prospects were expected during the transition to the new market model.
Experts think that the key measure for improving the competitive environment in the energy industry will be creation of the system of control of the state assistance by the Anti-Monopoly Committee of Ukraine.
Adoption of Draft Law 2966-д "On the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission" will facilitate greater transparency and control over the regulator.
