- The enemy shelled a Ukrenergo facility in the south. UAV attacks on substations in Chernihiv, Dnipro, and Zaporizhzhia regions were also reported.
- If the allies do not step up their assistance, Ukraine could face a humanitarian catastrophe in the winter – EU Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson.
- If the necessary funding is available and active work on restoration and repairs continues, it is possible to add about 3 GW to the system by the end of the year – Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko.
- A significant fire at one of the cooling towers of Zaporizhzhia NPP on August 11 did not pose an immediate threat to nuclear safety. The occupiers set a fire to blackmail Ukraine – President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
- The government approved the 2030 National Renewable Energy Action Plan and terms and conditions for holding a tender for the construction of generating capacity and demand–side management measures. The first tender for 700 MW of capacity was also approved.
- An additional support quota of 110 MW has also been set for renewable electricity producers for 2024. Pilot auctions are scheduled for October–November.
- Ukrenergo held a long–term auction for the purchase of 99 MW of frequency containment reserves (FCR). 12 companies became preliminary winners with offers ranging from 589 to 1001 UAH/MW.
- The SBU and NABU detained the Deputy Minister of Energy and three of his accomplices while receiving a 500,000 USD bribe for permission to transfer mining equipment from the frontline zone. Oleksandr Kheylo was dismissed from his post as Deputy Minister.
