The DiXi Group think tank team participated in a series of international events in Berlin bringing together key partners of the PAABS project “Supporting Ukraine in Implementing the Paris Agreement and Adapting to Climate Change Impacts in the Black Sea Region” and representatives of the International Climate Initiative (IKI). The events provided a platform for strategic planning, coordination, and discussion of the role of international projects in supporting Ukraine’s climate policy and green recovery.
DiXi Group representatives joined the PAABS consortium operational planning meeting and a networking workshop within the IKI framework on “Supporting Ukraine’s Resilience and Green Recovery on its Path to EU Accession.”
Participants discussed key areas of cooperation, including the development of Ukraine’s climate policy, implementation of sustainable finance approaches, strengthening the institutional capacity of government bodies, and alignment of national approaches with EU frameworks.

The DiXi Group team presented its contribution to the PAABS project, which focuses on supporting Ukraine’s financial sector in adopting modern sustainable finance approaches within the banking system — specifically, adapting European regulatory standards to the Ukrainian context, developing approaches to monitoring green finance flows, and building the capacity of financial institutions in sustainable development.
“Green finance is about connecting the financial system to the transformation of the real economy — not just financial instruments. Within PAABS, we will work on implementing approaches to identifying, consolidating, and reporting sustainable finance volumes in line with European requirements. We combine analytical work and policy development with advocacy and capacity building,” said Viktoria Kovalenko, General Manager for Sustainable Development at DiXi Group.
Coordination among international projects operating in Ukraine with German support was another focus of the events.
“This kind of interaction between projects allows us not only to exchange experience, but to strengthen collective impact — moving from individual initiatives toward more systemic solutions in sustainable finance and climate policy,” said Dmytro Sych, General Manager for Green Finance at DiXi Group and expert at the Green Transition Office.
The events also included bilateral meetings between Ukrainian and German government representatives to align priorities and identify next steps in cooperation.

The second day focused on results, challenges, and further steps in implementing climate policy, biodiversity conservation, energy efficiency, and Ukraine’s EU integration commitments. Panel discussions brought together government officials, experts, and international partners around a shared objective: effective implementation of climate policy amid recovery and European integration.
The trip took place within the framework of the PAABS project “Supporting Ukraine in Implementing the Paris Agreement and Adapting to Climate Change Impacts in the Black Sea Region.”
