According to Energy Map, during the week of March 16-22 electricity imports to Ukraine decreased by 3% to 207.9 GWh. Exports were carried out only on March 22 in insignificant volumes and amounted to 0.7 GWh, of which 99.8% went to Hungary and 0.2% to Slovakia.

Foreign trade volumes were affected by current conditions in the energy system. Over several days, a decline in temperatures and increased cloud cover were observed, contributing to higher electricity consumption and a simultaneous reduction in solar generation. At the same time, two nuclear power units are under repair, and a significant part of thermal generation is still being restored after previous russian attack. To balance the power system, electricity supply restrictions for households were reinstated – hourly outage schedules were applied on March 16 and 18-21 during certain hours across the country. For industry and businesses, capacity limitation schedules remained in effect.
Import structure by country:
- Hungary – 100.2 GWh (48%);
- Romania – 44.9 GWh (22%);
- Slovakia – 38.1 GWh (18%);
- Poland – 22.6 GWh (11%);
- Moldova – 2.1 GWh (1%).
Compared to the previous week, deliveries from Romania and Poland increased by 2% and 67%, respectively, while imports from other directions decreased by 5-12%.
