DiXi Group President comments for Recovery Window on how the exposure of large-scale corruption in the energy industry could affect international aid.
The expert points out that there will be an impact from what is happening in the energy sector. Because, first of all, trust has been undermined that funds and assistance from partners are 100% directed to the needs of the industry.

Both the volume of relevant supplies and the speed with which decisions are made about them are at risk.
“Most likely,” Olena Pavlenko suggests, “there will be a certain pause and rethinking of how to provide assistance to the Ukrainian energy sector now. This stoppage is dangerous for Ukraine, because the attacks leave a need for equipment and protective structures.”
Since it is vitally important, and Ukraine cannot afford to lose it, we must restore trust as quickly as possible. How exactly?
The focus on transparency must be immediate and maximum, as well as reporting to donors as fully as possible:
- audit the aid received;
- provide access to information on its distribution, where possible;
- show the amount of funds spent, at least in aggregated versions.
