  • Discussions over gas distribution tariffs show that the process of setting them was not sufficiently explained to consumers, and this only complicated the situation
  • Russia still attempts to implement its gas export strategy in the EU by detoursMeanwhile, given energy security, Ukraine is discussing the feasibility of resuming gas imports from the Russian Federation and Central Asia
  • The resumption of electricity imports from Belarus and the signing of new emergency assistance agreements call into question the self-sufficiency of internal market, especially given the growing demand due to winter colds
  • Regulatory uncertainty regarding the distribution of loans raised by Ukrenergo from state-owned banks has led to a struggle between different energy generation groups
  • Protests and political debates also affected other utility tariffs, namely for heat and electricity
  • The signing of production sharing agreements for 8 fields is a continuation of the course to attract investment in oil&gas production, although mostly from Ukrainian companies
