Report announcement:

• The way Naftogaz management was changed already seen as a threat to the corporate governance reform of state-owned companies… Simultaneously with the change of Naftogaz management, the Parliament appointed Herman Halushchenko, Vice President of Energoatom, as the Minister of Energy…
• Because of the introduction of annual gas tariffs, the main reference for the market was the commercial strategy of Naftogaz, given the access to resources of Ukrgazvydobuvannya; other suppliers have taken a wait-and-see attitude…
• The government continues to delay the introduction of market prices for electricity for the households, but promises to come up with decision on a new PSO model in early July… Meanwhile, there are visible signs of abuse and conflicts of interest in the electricity market…
• The government does not expect a shortage of diesel fuel in May, relying on the actions of traders and agreements with Ukrzaliznytsia, yet systemic solutions, such as minimum stocks, are needed to protect against such crises…
• The anniversary of the Chornobyl disaster has given rise to discussions between Ukraine and the international community on further steps to decommission the Chornobyl NPP…
