  • During the year, Russia launched over 1,000 drones and missiles of various types, including ballistic ones, to attack Ukraine’s energy facilities – Ministry of Energy.
  • Cases of tracking Russian drones over Ukraine’s nuclear power plants have recently increased manifold, which may indicate preparations for strikes – Energoatom.
  • The 9th unit of the nuclear power plants in the territory controlled by Ukraine was taken out of scheduled maintenance. At the same time, due to the growth in demand, the Base DAM index increased to UAH 5,029.8/MWh (+30.4%).
  • Ukraine expects to receive equipment with a capacity of over 1 GW by the end of the year, but it will not be fully connected to the grid in 2024 – Minister Galushchenko.
  • EUR 86 million of EIB loans for the modernization of substations will be reallocated to the construction of protection systems.
  • The Law “On the Basic Principles of State Climate Policy” was adopted, which indicates the achievement of climate neutrality by 2050 among its goals.
  • The Verkhovna Rada adopted a law on tax increases, which stipulates the obligation of petroleum stations to pay fixed advance payments from income tax. A new approach to the calculation of excise duty for producers of ethyl alcohol and bioethanol has also been introduced.
  • The Ministry of Economy announced a competitive selection for positions of three independent members of the supervisory board of Ukrenergo.
  • Ukraine does not plan to extend the agreement on the transit of Russian gas, but is ready to discuss the transit of gas from other suppliers – Prime Minister Shmyhal.
  • The Black Sea Trade and Development Bank received a JBIC credit line (up to USD 150 million) for projects in Ukraine. Lithuanian Ignitis grupė allocated EUR 4 million to support the Ukrainian energy system
