  • Russia continues to attack energy facilities in Ukraine. As of August 11, more than 170,000 consumers in 7 regions of Ukraine remain without electricity Ministry of Energy.
  • At the same time, the volume of power outages and electricity imports decreased significantly.
  • Russian disinformation about Ukraine’s energy sector has intensified with the aim of causing panic and protest moods among the population.
  • A fire broke out at the site of Zaporizhzhia NPP, its causes are being investigated. According to the IAEA, there is no risk of an increased level of radiation. During the week, the IAEA mission observed several fires in the vicinity of the station.
  • The government has expanded the list of goods, upon import of which no customs payments are levied, in particular, electric generator equipment, equipment for wind and solar generation, batteries (except for lowpower ones), etc.
  • In order to stimulate selfproduction of electricity, the government allowed not to disconnect consumers who produce at least 80% of electricity for their own consumption.
  • The government instructed the ministries and regional military administrations to ensure that by the end of 2025, solar panels and energy storage facilities are installed in public and administrative buildings, health care and education facilities, etc.
  • In seven months of 2024, Naftogaz Group produced 8.6 bcm of gas (+7% compared to the same period last year).
  • Ukrenergo plans to hold specialized auctions for the purchase of ancillary services on August 15 and 22 (with a total capacity of 1,099 MW). The auctions provide for the conclusion of fiveyear contracts for ancillary services.
  • The Cabinet of Ministers appointed Yuriy Sheiko as the First Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine; previously he held the position of acting first vicepresident and technical director of Energoatom.
