According to Energy Map, in September 2025 Ukraine exported 635.1 GWh of electricity, which is 41% higher than in August. This is the highest monthly export since spring 2020 and marks the fourth consecutive month that the country is a net electricity exporter. At the same time, imports fell by 47%, to 139.7 GWh.

Export and import dynamics:

Daily exports ranged from 9.2 to 27.5 GWh, peaking on September 10 and reaching the lowest on September 21. Overall, exports remained consistently high with a slight dip in mid-month.

Daily imports ranged from 1.3 to 9.2 GWh, with the highest volumes on September 26 and the lowest on September 2. Imports showed a rising trend in the second half of the month after relatively low levels at the beginning of September.

Exports by country:

  • Hungary – 254.3 GWh (40%);
  • Moldova – 179.1 GWh (28.2%);
  • Romania – 103.2 GWh (16.3%);
  • Poland – 97.3 GWh (15.3%);
  • Slovakia – 1.1 GWh (0.2%).

Compared to August 2025 (450.1 GWh), deliveries to partner countries increased by 39–390%, while exports to Slovakia fell by 98%. For comparison, in September 2024, total exports were only 0.7 GWh.

Imports by country:

  • Hungary – 81.2 GWh (58.1%);
  • Romania – 34.7 GWh (24.9%);
  • Poland – 19.7 GWh (14.1%);
  • Moldova – 3.8 GWh (2.7%);
  • Slovakia – 0.2 GWh (0.2%).

Import volumes fell by 47% compared to the previous month (264.2 GWh) and by 68% compared to the same month last year (437.9 GWh).

Overall, in September, exports exceeded imports by 4.5 times.
