  • Last week, Russian troops shelled gas production facilities of the Naftogaz Group and one of the Centrenergo thermal power plants.
  • Commercial electricity exports from Ukraine increased by 71% week-on-week to 74.3 GWh. Imports, in turn, decreased by 33% to 43.2 GWh.
  • Taking into account the shelling of one of the TPPs and maintenance works at 3 nuclear power units, the average hourly price of electricity on the day-ahead market (Base DAM index) increased to 5,401.4 UAH/MWh (+6%) over the week.
  • The regulator revised the price caps on the wholesale electricity market: during peak hours (17:00-23:00), the pice cap was raised from 9,000 to 15,000 UAH/MWh for the day-ahead and intraday markets and from 10,000 to 16,000 UAH/MWh for the balancing market.
  • The Cabinet of Ministers assigned to the Ministry of Energy the functions of formulating state policy in the field of management of the Chornobyl exclusion zone and state administration in the field of radioactive waste management at the stage of its long- term storage and disposal. Previously, the relevant functions were performed by the liquidated Ministry of Environmental Protection.
  • The Cabinet of Ministers amended two resolutions to simplify preparatory and construction work on electricity and gas transmission facilities. The document temporarily exempts project implementers from the obligation to obtain a number of permits if the construction is aimed at eliminating the consequences of Russian attacks and diversifying gas transmission routes.
  • As part of the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine, Ukrzaliznytsia JSC received 18 container-type gas engine power plants with a total capacity of 41.4 MW worth EUR 21.6 million.
  • Naftogaz concluded the first agreement on the supply of Azerbaijani gas with SOCAR Energy Ukraine, which will be delivered through the Trans-Balkan corridor.
  • Ukraine and France are to create a new Fund to support critical infrastructure and priority sectors of Ukraine’s economy with a targeted funding of EUR 200 million.
