The president of DiXi Group took part in a panel discussion moderated by Roman Zinchenko, co-founder and chairman of the board of the greencubator. The discussion took place during the award ceremony for 11 Ukrainian companies that won the Climate Innovation Vouchers grant project and will receive approximately €400,000 from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the EU.

“In addition to grants, the European Union should open up all European funds and opportunities to our startups,” the expert notes. “DiXi Group is actively advocating this proposal to the European Commission”.

“The second idea,” continues Olena Pavlenko, “we saw in MIT News: many startups there are establishing financial cooperation with large businesses.”

Ukraine should adopt this experience. Coordination between the Cabinet of Ministers, businesses, and startups could be useful in supporting and helping to bring innovative initiatives to market.

Olena Pavlenko sees time and money as the two biggest challenges for rebuilding our country according to the Build Forward Better principle. The extensive damage caused by Russian energy terrorism requires rapid restoration of damaged facilities and prioritization in the allocation of funds. Since most donors want to invest in new, green, and innovative, and therefore better, projects, this is not only a barrier but also an opportunity for development.

“As soon as Ukraine joins the EU, everything that happens here will become part of the European green course,” says the president of DiXi Group. “This can be achieved even faster if we implement the aforementioned proposal to open all funds, including those involved in the implementation of the European green course.”

Integrating the Ukrainian climate innovation ecosystem into the European green course will be facilitated by focusing on specific EU strategies with specific technologies for achieving zero emissions. The European Union considers them strategic and intends to develop them.

Olena Pavlenko sums up: “In my opinion, if we can produce such technologies in Ukraine, our startups will not only gain popularity but also dominant positions in all countries of the European Union.”
