Mr. Nasalyk, the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry, promised to cooperate in the future with non-governmental organizations supporting the implementation of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) in Ukraine.
Such was his statement during the final press conference at which he reported on the first 100 days of his work on the post. “We will actively cooperate with non-governmental organizations whose efforts help make the Ministry’s work more transparent and understandable”, the Minister said.
“It is important for the Ministry to contribute to lobbying the draft laws on the regulator, the electricity market and transparency in extractive industries in the Parliament. Though some of these draft Laws were proposed by MPs, the participation of the Ministry of Energy is now very important. Because the Government will then have to implement these Laws. It is crucial to ensure appropriate and generally comprehensible implementation”, said Mrs. Olena Pavlenko, President of DiXi Group think tank.
Let us remind you that the Parliament Committees on Fuel and Energy Complex and on Environmental Policy recommended to adopt the draft Law “On Disclosure of Information in Extractive Industries” (reg.No. 4840) in the first reading.
