Ukrainian EITI website published electronic forms to fill in for the preparation of the first report of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative. According to the President of DiXi Group Think Tank Olena Pavlenko, the publication of these documents is the first step in implementing the EITI initiative. “This has not happened since the days of independence. For the first time extractive companies have gained the possibility to play transparently. It remains to enter correct data in these forms”, said Olena Pavlenko. According to her, the data from these forms will be used in autumn in the course of the report preparation.
It should be reminded that the report itself must appear in October.
It should also be reminded that on June 16, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine had adopted the Law “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Regarding the Enhancement of Transparency in Extractive Industries of Ukraine”.
This legal act, in the development and promotion of which DiXi Group specialists took part, obliges subsoil users to provide and publish information on national and local taxes and fees, other payments, as well as production (economic) activity, in accordance with the procedure approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
