“EITI in Ukraine: How to Manage Resources Efficiently” Conference (announcement)

The conference “EITI in Ukraine: How to Manage Resources Efficiently” will be held in Kyiv on February 21 and 22.

The conference begins: at 9:00 a.m.

Venue: Hilton Hotel, 30 Tarasa Shevchenka Blvd.

During the conference, the second report will be presented as part of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative where the extractive industry’s role in the country’s economy was detailed and information provided on reserves and production volumes of coal, oil and gas, and iron, manganese, and titanic ores. Also expected in the course of the conference is a presentation of a statistical base of public data of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry, as well as a new energy sector on-line map developed by experts that will allow tracing quickly enough the route of energy resources from production to consumption and financial routes that accompany them.

The conference participants will also discuss energy data efficiency, examples of successful cooperation between companies and communities in the mining regions, efficiency of energy reforms in Ukraine, and future steps to be taken by Ukraine to improve the situation in its extracting industries.

Roman Opimakh, Executive Director of the Ukrainian Association of Gas Producers
