DIXI GROUP announces a call for application for supplier to provide modeling services in the field of green transition, energy and climate. Based on the results of the call, one service provider will be selected.
Climate and energy modeller will join the Green Transition Office (GTO) team in Kyiv (which was created to support the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine and the Government of Ukraine in the reconstruction of Ukraine’s economy, taking into account the requirements of the green transition and Ukraine’s integration into the EU), and collaborating closely with Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) teams based in Stockholm, Tallinn, and Boston. SEI is an international non-profit research institute that bridges science, policy, and practice for a sustainable future.
This role involves developing and analyzing low-carbon scenarios, providing policy recommendations for sustainable rebuilding, economic decarbonization, and EU integration. Climate and energy modeller will also engage with governments, NGOs, business associations and international organizations to deliver actionable research insights. The position is tied to the Green Agenda Project (funded by the Swedish International Development Agency), jointly implemented by GTO and SEI, including training on SEI’s modeling tools and scenario development.
Key Responsibilities:
Modeling and Analysis
- Develop and refine energy/climate models using relevant tools , including the LEAP software system developed by SEI.
- Conduct scenario analyzes on energy transition pathways, policy impacts, and decarbonization strategies.
- Development of technical and economic models of decarbonization measures for various sectors of the economy.
- Collect, analyze and integrate data from various economic sectors.
Policy Support and Research
- Collaborating closely with SEI and GTO teams in the support of the Ukrainian government in developing climate and decarbonization plans (e.g., NECP – National Energy and Climate Plan).
- Draft reports and technical documentation from modeling results and stakeholder input.
Project and Collaboration
- Partner with SEI centers and external stakeholders on multidisciplinary projects.
- Participate in capacity-building workshops and training on modeling tools.
Who You Are
A skilled modeller interested in sustainable transitions, with strong analytical skills, good communication skills, and teamwork experience.
Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in engineering, environmental science, energy systems, environmental economics, or related field.
- Experience in energy/climate modeling.
- Familiarity with the EU and national climate/energy policies (knowledge of ETS and CBAM is a plus).
- Experience in data analysis/programming (e.g., Python, SQL) is a plus. These skills will allow to work effectively in the LEAP software system.
- Fluency in Ukrainian and English.
Service provision period: 12 months.
Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Experience in the areas of green transition, decarbonization, climate and energy policy.
- Experience in modeling (objects, processes, systems, scenarios, etc.).
- Cost of services (per 1 hour).
