Special topic of the Monitoring: “Corporate Governance Reform: How to Achieve Success?”
Corporate governance in the public sector remains one of the key reform priorities and will continue to be a key priority in cooperation programs with both the IMF and the European Union within the Ukraine Facility framework. The quality of corporate governance is an important factor in the efficiency of state-owned enterprises, which among other things determines the level of trust of investors and Ukraine’s partners, including IFIs. Given the role of state-owned enterprises in Ukraine’s economy, effective corporate governance strengthens the country’s financial stability as a prerequisite for ensuring its defense capability.
Recent events once again prove that successful corporate governance reform requires not only formal adoption of legislative and regulatory acts, but also their consistent implementation, unconditional introduction of best management practices and proper accountability of all parties. During the event, we will discuss how to move from “rules on paper” to real implementation of relevant principles for managing state-owned companies, what needs to be done for this in 2026, and how to avoid mistakes in the reform process.
At the beginning of the event, Consortium experts will present and characterize the main economic trends of the past month, assess the progress in implementing IMF program beacons and the Ukraine Plan, which determines timely receipt of funds from our partners.
