Last week, the Russian regulator Rostekhnadzor conducteda pre–licensing inspection at Zaporizhzhya NPP units 1 and 2.
The Government allocatedmore than UAH 22 billion of aid provided by international partners for the recovery needs. In particular, about UAH 1.4 billion from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will be spent on the reconstruction of the energy sector.
The Cabinet of Ministers approvedthe State Target Program for Just Transformation of Ukraine’s Coal Regions until 2030, which defines the state’s strategic vision for the future of 38 coal communities. The estimated amount of funding for the Program is UAH 30 billion.
Commercial electricity exportsto Ukraine doubled compared to the previous week and amounted to 69.1 GWh. Imports fell by 42% to 35.3 GWh.
The monthly Base BCM (bilateral contracts market) indexfor June remained at 4,449.4 UAH/MWh (+14.5% compared to May).
Over the week, the average hourly price of electricity on the day–ahead market (DAM Base index) decreased to 4,249.4 UAH/MWh (–13.4%). The total volume of electricity sold on the Ukrainian DAM slightly decreased to 577.7 GWh (–0.5%).
By the beginning of the 2025/2026 heating season, at least 1 GW of highly maneuverable generation (gas engine and gas turbine units) and about 0.5 GW of energy storage capacities may be connected to the Ukrainian power system –Ukrenergo.
Since September 2024, SE Guaranteed Buyer reducedits debt to renewable electricity producers from UAH 35.7 billion to UAH 23.2 billion (–35%).
During the reporting week (June 15–21), physical importsof gas from Hungary amounted to 64.8 mcm (+5% compared to the previous week), from Poland –to 37.6 mcm (+3.1%), from Slovakia –to 26.7 mcm (+0.8%) and from Moldova –to 1.2 mcm (+99.1%).
As of June 21, 2.97 bcm of gas was accumulatedin Ukraine’s underground gas storage facilities (UGS), or 9.8% of their total working volume (excluding 4.662 bcm of long–term storage gas). During the reporting week, 327.1 mcm of gas was injected into underground storages (+2.2% compared to the previousweek).
Due to large–scale Russian attacks on gas production and storage facilities, Ukraine will increase gas imports this year: at least 4.6 bcm of imported gas is planned to be injected into storage facilities, of which 2.9 bcm have already been contracte, Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko said.
‘Naftogaz’ renewedits management team: lawyer Oksana Volynets and HR specialist Olena Artazey joined the company’s board, and Nadiya Bigun was appointed Director of Operational Efficiency in Procurement and Supply Chain.
As of June 20, the average retail price of A–95 gasoline increasedby UAH 2.32 compared to the previous week to 57.70 UAH/l, while premium A–95 went up by UAH 2.22 to 62.03 UAH/l. The price of diesel fuel increased by UAH 2.21 to 54.70 UAH/l over the week, and the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) increased by UAH 0.20 to 34.37 UAH/l.
