  • On September 23, the Zaporizhzhia NPP lost all external power supply, which is the tenth such incident since the start of the war. At the same time, Ukrenergo states that the relevant line is operational in the territory controlled by Ukraine and there are no technical obstacles to its use. Despite this, the occupiers deliberately do not connect the station, continuing their disinformation campaign against Ukraine.
  • Russia’s latest actions regarding the ZNPP may indicate its intention to launch at least one unit of the plant, according to Greenpeace.
  • On the night of September 25, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was shot down and blown up 800 meters from the perimeter of the South Ukraine Nuclear Power Plant. Twenty-two UAVs were spotted in the observation zone, some of which approached the station at a distance of only half a kilometer.
  • The monthly Base BCM (bilateral contract market) index for October was set at 4,173.9 UAH/MWh (-16.1% compared to the September index).
  • Commercial electricity exports from Ukraine increased by 29.4% compared to the previous week and amounted to 169.7 GWh. Imports, in turn, increased by 30.8% to 50.7 GWh.
  • The Ukrainian power system has already gained 286 MW of new balancing capacity thanks to the first two special long-term auctions for ancillary services.
  • The Cabinet of Ministers adopted Resolution No. 1197, which updated the Classification of Mineral Reserves and Resources, bringing it into line with the UN Framework Classification (UNFC-2019).
  • The government adopted a resolution obliging sellers of new passenger cars to provide buyers with information on fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, in compliance with Directive 1999/94/EC.
  • The United Kingdom contributed an additional EUR 48.7 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, bringing its total contribution to EUR 150.6 million.
