For almost two years, the communities selected to participate in the project to develop municipal energy plans (MEPs) have been receiving comprehensive expert support from the DiXi Group team in identifying goals and ways to implement MEPs based on the specifics of their region, legislative framework, international obligations, and their own financial capabilities. The experts also helped to assess the resource potential of the communities and provided each of them with individual recommendations on energy efficiency measures, development of renewable energy projects, and innovative solutions for their green recovery.
“Our team not only helped the communities develop high-quality MEPs from scratch, but also accompanied them on their way to the approval of this document at the sessions of city and village councils. And now we are extremely proud that 100% of the communities participating in the DiXi Group project have demonstrated their readiness to strengthen their energy capacity and further energy independence,” summarized Viktoriia Kovalenko, General Manager of Sustainable Development at DiXi Group.
The expert noted that thanks to joint efforts, community representatives have become experienced experts who now have all the tools to strengthen local capacity and build an efficient energy system.
The project was officially completed on June 27 in Kyiv as part of the “Strengthening the Energy Resilience of Communities: Results of the Project on the Development of Municipal Energy Plans”, where the team of the DiXi Group think tank presented the results of its work with communities.
DiXi Group’s project on the development of municipal energy plans was implemented thanks to the support of the Dutch Government under the MATRA programm and the European Climate Foundation (ECF).
