On June 6, a massive missile and drone attack resulted in power outages in Lviv, Ternopil, Chernihiv regions and the city of Kyiv.
Commercial electricity imports to Ukraine increased by 54% weekonweek to 59.6 GWh, while exports also demonstrated an increase of 14% to 30.9 GWh.
The monthly DAM Base Index for June remained at 4,449.4 UAH/MWh (+14.5% compared to May).
As a result of rising prices in night hours, the average hourly electricity price for the week on the dayahead market (Base DAM index) increased to 4,694.8 UAH/MWh (+20%). The total volume of electricity sold on the Ukrainian DAM increased to 589.8 GWh (+11%).
The government authorized the allocation of USD 200 million of grant funds from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) under two investment projects to reimburse Ukrenergo for the construction of protective structures for substations.
On June 26, 24.7 mcm of gas were sold at the Ukrainian Energy Exchange at a weighted average price of 21.2 UAH/cm excluding VAT (+2.3%). 86.2% of the resource was purchased by Gas Transmission Operator of Ukraine LLC.
The Cabinet of Ministers approved a EUR 36.4 million loan from the EBRD for Ukrgasvydobuvannya to purchase new mobile drilling rigs.
The Ministry of Energy amended the charters of NPC Ukrenergo and Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine LLC, under which the appointment of the CEO would require a qualified majority of five members of the supervisory board, including at least one state representative. Due to these changes, the EBRD has  already warned of its right to suspend financing for Ukrenergo. The Ministry of Energy explains the amendments by the need to ensure the decisive voice of state representatives in the management of critical stateowned enterprises. • • Between June 1, 2024, and May 25, 2025, Ukrainian banks received 4,500 applications for loans to restore energy infrastructure worth UAH 86.4 billion and have already financed UAH 18.2 billion, which will support deployment of more than 705 MW of new generation.
• Physical imports of gas from Hungary during the reporting week (June 1-7) amounted to 55.2 mcm (-16.5% compared to the previous week), from Poland – to 34.3 mcm (-16.4%), from Moldova – to 0.6 mcm (-58%) and from Slovakia – to 23.8 mcm (-42.2%).
• As of June 7, 2.32 bcm of gas was accumulated in Ukrainian underground gas storages (UGSs), or 7.7% of the total working volume of the storages, with 294.4 mcm of gas injected in the reporting week (-2.5% WoW).
• In 2024, revenues from the energy sector brought UAH 129.4 billion to the state budget, which is 13% more than last year – DiXi Group.
• France will provide an additional EUR 200 million to support Ukraine’s reconstruction projects and integration with the European market. The French government also confirmed the provision of guarantees in the form of export credit insurance worth EUR 1.5 billion.
