The results of the USAID Transparent Energy project were presented in Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk

On November 13, experts from DiXi Group Think Tank presented the results of the USAID Transparent Energy project in Lviv.

Traditionally, in the course of the regional presentation, think tank experts introduced the participants to the online energy sector map, File a request tool, Energy Sector Online mobile application, the Energy Sector Transparency Index, the online course on energy and fact sheets (infographics on the components of the tariff for gas, electricity, oil products and heat).

According to the local expert, former head of the Fuel and FEC Department of the Lviv Regional State Administration Mykhailo Melnyk, the fact sheets from DiXi Group proved to be useful to him

“This is very useful. All the materials we needed were in one place. We (Lviv Regional State Administration – Ed.) had a difficult period when there was an increase in the price for fuel in Ukraine: we received dozens of appeals from citizens, held more than one meeting with social activists. In conversation with the inhabitants of the region, factsheets helped us greatly. When people see information, it is easier for them to draw conclusions,” the ex-official said.

The following day, the results of the project were presented in Ivano-Frankivsk, on the territory of the New Energy scientific camp.

We remind that regional presentations of developments of the USAID Transparent Energy project, implemented by DiXi Group Think Tank also took place in Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy and Odesa.

The “Augean stables” of the extractive sector: is there any progress?

The practice of procuring special extraction permits and then sitting idle on them for decades is unacceptable from the viewpoint of Ukraine’s energy independence and national security, raising budget revenues and the country’s investment attractiveness.

International Energy Transparency Index 2020: sector openness test – positive or negative?

Transparency is one of the key prerequisites for effective economic and market development, open competition, fair pricing, and formulation of balanced policy and regulation. Better information openness is also a safeguard against corruption.
