DiXi Group Will Show “Black Boxes” of Ukrainian Energy

On February 2, 2017, USAID Transparent Energy Project (USAID Project) will hold a briefing where “black boxes” of some players in the energy sector will be presented. During the event, you will learn which particular data can be hidden in supplying unaccounted heat, receiving coal, in debts of state-owned companies, in importing and marketing energy resources.

The event will take place on February 2 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ukraine Crisis Media Centre (2 Khreshchatyk St., Ukrainian House).

In addition, at the press briefing, we plan to discuss the following: Which information gaps in the field require special attention and response of the government authorities and the mass media? What tools for disclosing information have already been working or will be launched in Ukraine in the nearest future? How can energy consumers and the public take part in the information disclosure?

In particular, a representative of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry will tell about their publication of the first sets of open data. Along with the release of a report of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative and anti-corruption initiatives of the public in the nearest future, it will promote public transparency and investment attractiveness of the industry.
