Anton Antonenko, Vice President, DiXi Group, comments on the situation.
“The operation of the energy markets depends on the quality of preparation of the Draft Law. In particular, I mean the new Law on the Natural Gas Market and the Draft law on the Electricity Market which is currently been discussed”, he told.
In the expert’s opinion, it is critical that MPs take more time and discuss the Draft Law in detail, given the fact that the next week is not plenary.
“It should be done so that the Draft Law be put on a vote in a week, quickly finalized by the Committee (the proposals on the improvement of the Draft Law were jointly developed by MPs and Ukrainian and foreign experts) and passed to ensure a real independence and professionalism of the Regulator. In such case, one would not groan at lobbyists defending their interests”, Anton Antonenko highlighted.
