18 specialists successfully completed training under the first management program from KSEP
Strategic Transformations in Energy Markets, a three-month management program developed by Kyiv School of Energy Policy (KSEP), was launched on 1 March.
This program, the only one of its kind in Ukraine, was created to facilitate experience exchange among specialists of the energy sector. It consisted of three modules:
- Architecture and strategies in energy markets (market infrastructure; supply chains in the energy sector; models of the EU, United States and Ukraine)
- Economics of energy markets (tariffs and prices in energy markets; price analytics and forecasting; energy trading)
- Innovative business models in power engineering (energy transition in Ukraine, resources to launch innovative projects, innovation vouchers, financing instruments, etc.)
The participants also prepared a practical project of creating a startup in the energy sector using innovative business models and the knowledge they gained. This project was prepared with mentorship support from the invited lecturers and experts. In addition, such training method as case study was used during the training course. A case study of the electricity market was held by Vsevolod Kovalchuk, ex-CEO of Ukrenergo NPC, and a case study of the gas market by Yuri Vitrenko, formerly Acting Minister of Energy and presently Chairman of Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC.
Overall, the number of star speakers who conducted this course was simply fantastic! 17 lecturers, including Yuri Vitrenko, Vsevolod Kovalchuk, Olena Antonova, Yulia Kovaliv, Andrii Favorov, Oleksii Dubovskyi,Andrius Šimkus, Serhii Maslichenko and others, delivered brilliant lectures and shared the most important practical knowledge during the entire program.
The first edition of Strategic Transformations in Energy Markets program was attended by 18 experts, public officials and representatives of businesses and civil society (15 of whom completed the entire program and the other three only certain modules). All of them received quality managerial knowledge related to today’s realities of legislation, politics, innovations, economics and finance in energy markets of Europe and the world.
