Roman Nitsovych Took Part in the Conference "Vector '17"

15 December 2016

Roman Nitsovych, Project Manage of the DiXi Group Think Tank, spoke at the Conference "Vector '17. Turning-point of economic reforms: how to stay on the right track." A representative of DiXi took part in the session "Gas market reform: will the first major reform in Ukraine reach a logical conclusion?"

An expert of DiXi Group, together with members of the Parliament and players in the market, tried to assess when the market will become fully functional, as well as who and how will benefit from its news rules.

"The key issue which should be the concern of politicians and government officials is the liberalization of the gas market for households and public heating utilities, which will take place on April 1, 2017. If, by that time, no decision is made on subsidies, payments and debt, on distribution networks operation, the benefits of the free market can turn into risks," said Roman Nitsovych.

According to the event organizers, the purpose of the conference is "to highlight not always visible though important and consistent steps towards "victory" and evaluate what needs to be done over the next 3 - 6 months."

The conference was organized by the Kyiv School of Economics and VoxUkraine Ukr/Ru.

Business representatives, members of the Parliament and government representatives took part in the discussions, apart from the experts.
