The Committee on Corruption Prevention and Counteraction of the Verkhovna Rada has recognized the draft law "On the National Energy and Public Utilities Regulatory Commission" (registration No. 2966-d of February 02, 2016) as compliant with anti-corruption legislation.
It should be mentioned that the Committee has found numerous corruption risks in the previous version of the document, which was proposed by the Government.
"The version of the draft law, created with participation of the Strategic Advisory Group and registered by MPs, received significantly higher scores. It gives more chances that the draft law will find enough support", said Olena Pavlenko, DiXi Group President.
According to her, future of the draft law depends on the will of MPs. "All the necessary conclusions, all statements are available, and all the necessary activity has been carried out. Now it is the turn of MPs and their commitment to reform the country, she said.
In September 2015, the Strategic Adisory Group was established, including the leading Ukrainian and international experts and MPs. The group works to improve the draft law " On the National Energy and Public Utilities Regulatory Commission".During the work of the group, its experts have processed more than 190 comments to the draft law. The activity of the Strategic Advisory Group became possible due to the project "Promoting the establishment of an independent regulator in Ukraine", implemented by DiXi Group with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation.
