Roman Nitsovych, Program Manager of DiXi Group think tank, participated in the annual conference of the Ukrainian National Platform of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum that took place in November 11-12 in Kyiv.
Around 80 participants of the event discussed the use of the Eastern Partnership opportunities for reform development and cooperation among Ukraine, the EU, and other countries in the region Among other things, the participants of the conference working sessions formulated the strategic activity areas within the Ukrainian National Platform for 2016-2019 as well as the respective working groups plans.
"For Working Group 3, Environment, Climate Change and Energy Security, we identified several topics, more specifically – research of the factors of energy security strengthening, awareness raising on the issues pertaining to the environmentally balanced local development, integration of the energy policy, environment protection and climate change control policies, as well as other priorities", Roman Nitsovych emphasized.
According to him, the next step should be elaboration of these priorities, and development of specific projects open for all NGOs that are members of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum, and their partners.
The conference was organized with the support of the EU-financed Civic Synergy project implemented by the International Renaissance Foundation and aimed at strengthening the efficiency of public participation in the European integration reforms by strengthening two civic platforms functioning in the area of Ukraine's European integration – the Ukrainian side of EU-Ukraine Civil Society Platform and the Ukrainian National Platform of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum.
