To the attention of all IT heroes! You have a unique chance now! If your brain is overfilled with ideas as to how to tell Ukrainian citizens correctly about the reforms, how to explain to them what is being done in the energy industry, how to improve the use of open data in the energy sector, then this is just for you.
We, the DiXi Group think tank, invite you to participate in the contest of ideas devoted to working with open data in the area of energy, under the USAID Transparent Energy Project. Our goal is to create and launch products and solutions to help citizens better understand what is happening in the energy sector, receive online information in understandable format, and respond to violations.
To develop your ideas, we suggest using information and data posted on the Energy Map of Ukraine (http://map.ua-energy.org/), website of the Ministry of Energy and the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities, etc. At the same time, we do not limit you to these resources and we are open to all ideas and proposals.
We expect you to come up with bright ideas as to the development of services, visualizations and other tools, products which use any set of existing data in the energy sector. Following the contest results, DiXi Group will support the best ideas for the purpose of their further realization. Do not miss your chance, because the total fund for realization of ideas is $30,000.
The organizers intend to support 1-3 successful projects. If necessary (e.g., due to the great number of proposals), the second qualification stage may be announced to decide the winner, of which the applicants will be notified in advance.
To participate in the contest, you have to file an online application for participation by October 10, 2017.
The applications will be assessed based on the following criteria:
- Significance (audience that can be covered by the realization of the idea) - up to 25 points;
- Correspondence to the goal and task of the contest (the extent to which realization of the idea will make the Ukrainian energy sector more understandable for ordinary citizens, will make information on the energy industry more accessible and closer to the consumers) - up to 40 points;
- Feasibility (potential project can be implemented and give the first outcomes before October 31, 2018 within the total available financing; the team has a potential to implement the project) - up to 35 points.
Following the Contest results, the contest commission will issue ratings of the projects and declare the winners.
