DiXi Group takes part in the approval of a draft 2016 EITI Report

16 March 2018

Roman Nitsovych, Dixi Group’s Head of Projects and Programs, took part in the Multi-Stakeholder Group’s (MSG) meeting held on 14 March to review and approve a draft 2016 Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) Report.

The primary report on data verification and a draft contextual part of the 2016 EITI Report were presented by Andrii Kitura, a representative of the independent administrator EY Ukraine.

Production of refractory clays, high-melting-point clays and sand used in glass industry were added to extractive industries covered by the upcoming EITI Report: production of oil, gas, coal and iron, titanium and manganese ores. Information regarding role of the government in the industry, reserves, essential exploratory operations, special permits, production output, export and import volumes, etc. will be disclosed for every extractive industry.

After discussions, MSG members have voted to approve the first draft of the Report. The group has also agreed that work on developing terms of reference for preparation of a new report must start as soon as possible in order to have the 2017 Report released this year.

"It’s a good thing that besides approving a preliminary version of the 2016 EITI Report, the group’s members have unanimously agreed to start working on preparation of the next report. The process moves forward. I hope that adoption in first reading of the draft law 6229 on transparency of extractive industries would only accelerate it", Roman Nitsovych said.
